Dr. Jorge Antunez de Mayolo, board certified medical oncologist and hematologist at Mercy Hospital, will present a lecture focusing on the special needs of older cancer patients. He will address the importance of recognizing cancer in older persons and being able to diagnose them at an early stage.
Dr. Antunez de Mayolo will review the many effects of cancer in the life of an older patient who may have other medical conditions. He will discuss adequate prevention, options of care available and the prognosis for geriatric cancer patients.
