Dr. Manuel Guerra, board-certified oncologist at the Miami Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital, will conduct a lecture on new treatment approaches in the management of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer affects one in six men, it is the most common non-skin cancer in America responsible for approximately 27,000 deaths each year. A principal investigator for a number of clinical trials, Dr. Guerra is conducting a clinical research trial of an investigational prostate cancer vaccine. He will discuss the most common and effective treatments for prostate cancer as well as the benefits of this investigational vaccine. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
