Mercy Laboratory Associates is unique in that it is one of the only providers of laboratory testing services in South Florida which also provides highly-valued Blood Bank services. In conjunction with Mercy Hospital’s transfusion service, the blood bank services are able, with contracted arrangements, to provide cross matched and non-cross matched blood products to licensed medical facilities in need of this service. Blood products are provided through Mercy Hospital’s arrangement with Florida Blood Centers, Inc. These services are available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. The availability of Blood Bank services differentiates Mercy Laboratory Associates from other reference labs.

Mercy Hospital has the only hospital-based AHCA licensed Forensic Toxicology Lab in Miami-Dade County. Our main collection site is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Federal Chain of Custody procedure provided. We perform the 5 and 10 test drug panels as well as blood and breath alcohol testing, urine validity (creatinine, specific gravity) testing and adulterants (nitrites, antioxidants, pH) performed on all specimens.
