Childbirth Preparation Classes (Lamaze)
This series prepares the expectant mother and coach to actively participate in the birth process. It includes instructions on birth options, breathing and relaxation, different stages of labor and coping techniques. It is recommended that you start these classes at the beginning of the seventh month of your pregnancy. These classes are offered in English and Spanish. Coaches or Fathers are strongly encouraged to attend all classes.
Weekday Evening Childbirth Preparation Classes “Total Package”

This package is designed to be all inclusive, providing information, support and skills for the expectant couple. The package includes attending the following two 2 ½ hour classes:
- Infant CPR and Home Safety
- Breastfeeding Class
Saturday Childbirth Preparation Workshop “Total Package”

Preparation for Planned Cesarean Birth
This class is designed to educate parents on what to expect for a surgical birth. This includes a tour of the maternity floor. To register or for more information and fees associated with this class please call (305) 285-2770.

Step-by-step infant CPR instructions are given, plus simple precautions for a hazard free home for your new baby.
Baby Care
This class will assist you in caring for your new baby. Emphasis will be on bathing, sleeping, clothing and safety. Characteristics and normal behavior of the newborn are reviewed, as well as methods you can use to cope with your role as a new parent. This class will consist of practical information to assist the expectant women in her preparation for motherhood. Topics covered include, household responsibility, fatigue, reading and understanding baby’s cues and more.
